Ask Jane Chenaille what her first love is and she will tell you without hesitation that

she is a quilter.  However,  a funny thing happened a few years ago that changed everything as it relates to what Jane does.

    She got a Christmas gift of an American Girl Doll, Samantha, from her mother. That doll has become the best dressed doll that you will ever see.  Jane thought it would be a cute thing to create doll clothes for her new doll.  Once she began designing, creating, and dressing her doll it didn’t take long before she realized others who owned dolls would enjoy getting new and fresh clothing for their dolls as well. That led to the birth of what now has become an important part of Jane’s sewing.  She now sews wall quilts, table runners and other quality fiber items that she sells to her many satisfied customers.  She still tells anyone who asks, that she is a quilter, and when you see the twinkle in the eyes of little girls, dressing their favorite doll with a new Jane Chenaille created dress or knitted item, it’s a safe bet that Jane now realizes that her line of clothes for dolls is a very important part of her life as well as the lives of all those youngsters.

      However, her wall quilts, table runners and other sewn items have not suffered. Jane still creates wonderful, new products as well as sewing the staple items that are so popular to her many clients. Her sewn items have been sold and are displayed all over the world.

     It’s been a wonderful ride from that first apron that she sold more than 12 years ago until now, but it never gets old and never seems to get less exciting whenever a new season begins. A few years ago, Jane got so busy, she told her husband  that she was considering dropping her apron line.  Her husband, who is retired, consented to learn how to sew and now, he creates all of the aprons. He admits that he works harder now than he ever worked before he retired.  The aprons are offered in several sizes to fit adults to tiny tots.

     Part of the excitement comes from the thought process that helps design, cut, sew and ultimately create a new item to be offered to her customers. It may be someone who has never purchased an item from Jane but, chances are it’s someone who has experienced the satisfaction of owning and enjoying a, “Quality Sewing by Jane” item. Jane is her own quality control department. If an item isn’t perfect, it isn’t for sale.
